Although (and this has been a blessing/curse my whole life) when someone says I can't do something (talking to you ASmith :)) I usually take that as a sign to prove him wrong. All the crazy McGyvering (bed sheets, sea anchors, kites, triangle sails, dagger boards, makeshift rudders) were because A. I'm crazy and like doing stuff like that B. were actually intended to make us go faster and C. over 2000+ miles you get bored paddling and need SOMETHING to keep your mind occupied) So I'll agree I, um, didn't exactly look like the picture of a seasoned traveler, but on the inside... I was and am. Thank you Greg and Debbie, You know Debbie, my great grandmother was an avid fisherwoman in Indiana and she claimed that the secret to her success was her bright red lipstick. Ryan likes to change the details sometimes to make the stories more entertaining. The real story is that Wes was simply going to pick us up when after he got home around midnight that night and the ensuing wait and multiple telephone calls occurred while he tried to locate someone who could come get us sooner.
